I’ve noticed lots of people here misusing punctuation, so I thought I’d share some wisdom I’ve acquired through years of writing way too much. 0:-) Here’s a short, free lesson, to save you all some time and trouble. <3
Have you ever considered how a simple colon, all by itself, can completely change the meaning of a sentence? For instance:
1. Jane ate her friend’s sandwich.
2. Jane ate her friend’s colon.
I’m sure we can all agree that while (1) was very naughty of Jane, (2) was much worse. ^_^ So there’s your first lesson: With proper punctuation, you can make a bad sentence worse. ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄
