How long does it take to "get good"?

when i started playing i had 1100 elo after a year and a half i now have 2100 elo in blitz however i must have done over about 9000 games and watch a lot of chess content on youtube so is it that my progress is normal ?

Actually it took me roughly 12 years to reach my level and I have been maintaining it for 20 years.

National peak (DWZ 2188) was two years ago but only slightly better than the two decades before.
I feel I am getting better but my rating does never seriously change...my answer to this: all players show same improvement rate, todays 1600 is tomorrows 1500
Playing a lot makes you better at what you already know but you won't get to the next level. You need to study to expand your knowledge or chess vocabulary to grow as a player. Basic pedagogy
Interesting. I will never reach the higher levels...

That's very good :) I think it's a great improvement though.
