Mentors

Hello world,

In the past few weeks, I decided to give chess a go. I've been reading up on some literature and I've been watching videos on yt to get a grip of the game. What all of these videos (and teachers) say is that nothing beats a good analysis. Computer analysis on this site is great, but sometimes I simply do not see why some particular move is as bad as the engine says.

That is why I was wondering if anyone would be interested in "adopting" a protege in regards to the beautiful game we love so much? :D I think a bit of commentary from other players and a tip or two would go a long way in improving my game.

This thread is, of course, also intended for anyone who might be interested in this idea.

Tl;dr: looking for a mentor
Obviously can't help someone who's better than I am, but if you think my advice would be helpful just send a message. That goes for others as well.
Send me a couple of games once in a while
and I tell you some ideas we discuss some line
Im quite busy but 5 minutes 10 minutes I dont mind
just making sure you analyze yourself before asking
since there is no much help in hanging pieces positions
but if there is some weird complicated tactic that you dont understand I tell you what to play to simplify the game and win or keep it drawish as sometimes computers play wacky difficult lines, and u gotta learn fist the basic concepts open columns and so on.
Ask me if you want help with openings.
PM me and we can work out some simple opening repertoire.

Hi Akira.

I could help you analysing your games.
Likewise, I'm willing to help with Tactics/Openings/Endgames/Overall Strategy/

I have not played actively on this acc but plan to in the upcomming weeks, and probably the 24 hour marathon.

PM if you wish. :)

Freindly Greetings,
FinnishMathematician

(ps: I can answer Math questions as well)
AkirpapAnalif,
Welcome to Lichess ! :)

While Lichess is awesome for several chess features, it does currently lack the option to analyse together or to insert chess game viewer based chess games in comments on the forum.

On chess.com there's forums and groups, with the option to insert chess games with annotations.

In those groups and forums you can ask questions and request game analysis and get replies with chess game viewer chess games annotated.

You could register for free (and optionally use an ad-blocker), and join my group, or other study groups, for example :
http://www.chess.com/groups/home/dan-heisman-learning-center
http://www.chess.com/groups/home/nm-aww-rats-free-video-lessons
http://www.chess.com/groups/home/achja-chess

I am willing to help anyone by briefly annotating games(played at longer controls),analyse specific positions or discuss chess stuff in general as long as it isn't too much effort.
Everybody is welcome to PM me.
