If it pleases you, you continue playing bullet.
No problem, dude.

Playing blitz will never hurt your bullet...but vice versa is not true.

> Another thing,

Not everyone likes long time controls, some people just like playing bullet for fun and that's fine because the whole point of chess is to have fun

1. If you play multiple blitz game and immediately switch over to a bullet or ultra bullet, there is no way you can win the 1st game. Because your mind is not trained to play a bullet game immediately after multiple blitz.

2. If you improve your blitz game by playing it continuously, and thereafter play bullet game ( with a pause or after losing the 1st one), eventually your bullet rating will improve...that too drastically.

Case in point: I never really played blitz but when I did, my bullet rating went from 1650 to 1800 in one day. I should have continued playing blitz which I did not.

The biggest false assumption that players make in bullet games is that "if I do not move 10 moves in 4-5 seconds, I will lose due to time". That is not true!

You and I and we all know very well that Bullet is not Chess. Therefore, the foundation needs to be strong. If you avoid blunders and make good moves within 2 seconds in a complicated situation, congratulations you won that bullet game - guess what...that is only possible if your are GOOD is Chess, not Bullet :)

You will have more fun if you are good in Bullets too. For that, you need to be good in Blitz and Rapid.
#14,
First of all let me ask you a question, which I ask to anybody who is sticked to bullet.
Do you take chess as 'hobby' or 'passion'?
If Hobby -- then, you can continue playing bullet. I advise you to do so. It will keep your mind active, fresh and calm.
If Passion -- and you want to succeed, you must play long-time controls. If you are passionate, then start playing rapid and classical. It will boost your memory, and you can realize how good or how bad you are.

I take Chess as Hobby.

And even as a hobby I want to improve to make it interesting or else it will be become boring.

Of course no one likes to lose but you don't NEED blitz and rapid, for me I improved the most in 30 second bullet and after that I reached 2100 rapid because of my bullet skills.

Is it not harder to achive 1900 in bullet then 1900 in Rapid. Im newish to the game and I am 1900 in Rapid, but not even close to 1900 in bullet.
