Can we get some time when we have an internet interruption.

I'm so tired of losing games just cause my internet connexion bugs for 30 secondes.
I get back soon as I can and I lost the game already.
Can we get at least 30 sec or 1 min to declare that one of the player "left the game". When you play blitz or classical you prefer losing 30sec or 1 min even if it's not refund obviously, than losing the entire game.
That's a decision you can make if you judge your time to short but what happens now is revolting.
People press the winning button while they are completly losing the game.
Hope we can do something about this.
Baybars.
Play correspondence if your connection is weak. Or play with people you know.
What could be nice is that if a player left the game, his opponent could still declare the game finished, but then the engine would evaluate the position and would be the one to decide of the result.
Not necessarily; then, someone who is way ahead in a game could just leave a game and have a win from engine analysis. I would revise your suggestion so that someone (player 1) whose opponent (player 2) left the game can:

1. call draw, or
2. use engine analysis; if the engine finds player 1 ahead by at least 100 centipawns, win for player 1; otherwise, draw.

Therefore player 1 cannot declare a victory (if player 2 left) unless the engine says so.
I think it's a great idea but there wouldn't be a risk that player 1 who's losing but not from 100 centipawns of difference quit the game to get the draw and not a maybe future lose ?

He can not tell the centipawn I know but I think people will try that to save a draw.
It's stupid. You are playing online chess. Of course if you disconnect it will be a forfeit.

Do you expect if in a OTB tournament I get up and leave in middle of a game, then result will be decided by engine analysis?

Use common sense. If your internet is not too good, then play correspondence chess.
My internet is good thank you.
I'm just wondering if we couldn't wait a few times before declaring a player disconnected. The time he's losing by the way and I'm not asking for a refund or anything just waiting a little and not declaring that a player left the game right away.
Personally I don't call a win when I'm cleary losing if my opponent have some struggle with his connection but it's not the case for everyone.
#6: If one player's advantage over the other is less than 100 centipawns, then both players usually have fighting chances and the game is normally playable by both. Of course, two 2000+ players may see a distinct, extendable advantage in fewer than 100 centipawns, so the rule may have to account for high-rated players.

#7: Even in an OTB tournament people can, for example, use the bathroom (as long as they don't answer the phone, use a computer, etc). Similarly, here in an online chess server, it would be good to distinguish between temporary disconnections (network problems, which I'm sure everyone has experienced at least once) and permanent disconnections (rage quits).

#8: Instead of waiting a few times, I'd say to wait at least 30 seconds or a minute (most legitimate, accidental network problems resolve themselves within a minute) before offering the options I gave in #5.
This post makes no sense to me. While I love winning and hate losing, the point of playing chess on here is to play chess, not to accumulate as many wins as possible. In other words, losing a game is not the end of the world - in fact, it really doesn't matter at all.

Play to win but if your connection happens to go out and you lose a game, oh well, just play another one when you're back online.
